Bradby Young people had a day of football tournament excitement and drama in July. The tournament was the idea of the young people who took charge to organise the event, the format and the teams. The 6 a side tournament attracted 14 teams from across Rugby who took on the names of European Countries to battle it out for, well, bragging rights!!
An exciting day, with some fantastic football displayed and all professionally refereed, well Curt was the ref. Fun was had by all and only 2 yellow cards were seen throughout the entire tournament. A close battle in the majority of the games saw Germany and Italy progress through the group phase and the knockouts to reach the final. Both teams fully deserving of their spots and so evenly matched on the day it would be penalties that would decide the winner. By a fine margin, which included some missed penalties I might add, Germany took the victory and the title of the first Bradby Euros. Well done to all the teams and players on the day, an absolute pleasure to facilitate this event for the young people.
